Fashionspiration: Kate Moss [her style]

1 lovely comments

One of the world's most famous supermodels shows how to take some trends from the runway and apply to them to your look, even in the coldest of days.
  • Cold weather wear can still be bold weather wear -- try incorporating metallics into your winter wardrobe or add a splash of color to an otherwise neutral outfit with your accessories.
  • All-black ensembles are certainly not just for funerals. Mix up the textures of a black outfit, like pairing pleats with smooth leather, to add appeal.
  • The leather jacket is perfect not only for a rock-and-roll vibe but also for warmth.
  • Rainboots don't have to be painboots for your style. Hunter boots are very trendy and most importantly, functional.

It's the snow's fault....

The overwhelming 26+ inches of snow in DC made me both bum around and dress a little fugly. Please accept this video as penance for not posting in so long. It's a David Yurman campaign film from 2007, filmed by Peter Lindbergh, who is the subject of my Photography presentation tomorrow. I can't stop watching it over and over. I love the song, the models, and the shots. Enjoy!

Mary-Kate Olsen [herstyle]

Mary-Kate knows how to keep boho chic in season. Learn a lesson:
  • Yes, you may over-accessorize. Pile on the rings, bracelets, and necklaces. Just keep the metals the same and it'll be hard to go over the top.
  • Mary-Kate tops the plain white tee with the thin, plain white tee.
  • Volumize! The chunkier the scarf, the warmer you are, the better the outfit.
  • Go tribal with tassels, animal accessories, red and gold accents, and tribal prints.
  • Be brief. A briefcase-style bag is great for winter.

Agyness Deyn [her style]

Supermodel style:
  • Who said formal dress meant uncomfortable shoes? Drop the heel and opt for comfortable (and stylish) oxfords.
  • Blaze it up -- add blazers to any outfit, casual or formal.
  • Sock it to me! Bring socks of any length, knee-high or ankle into your ensemble.
  • Leather jackets work well with formal wear.
  • Dont' be afraid to mix your patterns! The less you match, the better.
