New Jeans: Denizen from Levi's

1 lovely comments

Jacket: Zara / Top: borrowed / Jeans: Denizen by Levi's from Target / Harness boots: Forever 21 / Beanie: TopShop / Purse: Chanel

Jacket: TopMan / Jeans: Denizen by Levi's from Target / Boots: Dr Martens

Last month, Levi's got in touch with me about their new line of jeans for Target, Denizen. They sent me a few pairs to try, and I could not be happier! Above, I'm wearing their skinnies in a light blue I'm not used to wearing. I always go for a darker blue, so I went a little experimental with a rougher texture, lighter blue than I normally do. I loved them - perfect fit, great material for the low price. They also sent me a pair for Cade - and he loves them too! He says they were almost exactly the same as his Levi's 511s.

As you can see, I have moved to Brooklyn, Williamsburg to be exact. It's so much inspiring to do personal blogging here. These were taken at Grand Ferry Park, my favorite spot to take guests for a stunning view of the city. Expect more soon!

NYFW Street Style

7 lovely comments
Hi all! I went up to NYC a few weekends ago to visit friends and decided to stop by Lincoln Center for a bit. Unfortunately, I didn't make it there until late in the day but I still managed to snap some stellar looks. Enjoy!

Loved the short, colored dip-dye. Great idea for those of you with shorter cuts!

A fellow photographer looking fabulous in faux-fur.

So much neon!

A girlish take on menswear.

I'm digging the vest and the thigh-high slit (not quite Angelina Jolie though, eh?)

Bowties, leather, spikes, and fur. and insanely great hair.

How seventies! I love how her palette is all in the same range.

College Fashionista Post! [yourstyle]

7 lovely comments
Hi, everyone! My post on College Fashionista received the honor of Look of the Day and has been up on the homepage all weekend. Feel free to read my article and to like it! More about Italy later. :)

Ciao! Within my first day here at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy, I noticed Annie with her short red hair and red lips. I found her look stunning and was amazed at her ability to make a winter jacket look so fantastic.

When the daily weather makes it too chilly to live without a jacket, it's hard to prevent the same old coat from becoming mundane. This Fashionista shows us exactly how to circumvent this problem. First, buy a coat that fits your taste completely. Don't totally succumb to trends when choosing your outerwear because this is an item you'll be stuck with day after day. Annie chose a beautiful Aztec-print coat with a faux fur collar and toggle style closure that are both very chic right now. This Native American-esque print is not just glamorously southwestern, but also expresses Annie's quirky style without being overly trendy. It's something she loves to wear everyday!

Also, Annie's use of accessories is a fantastic example of how to spice up a humdrum winter outfit. At her feet are khaki booties flanked by colorful (and not to mention, warm) socks. Cute and cozy socks are a great way to keep your outfit different each day without having to spend too much. Try your favorite pattern like floral or even leopard. Annie tops her look off with a hair bow that not only complements her classic lip shade but also brings the attention to her gorgeous face. So next time you're bemoaning the monotony of your winter coat, try some of this Fashionista's leads to keep this season fresh.

Alla moda!

Street Vile: Couples Edition

3 lovely comments

2nd Runner-Up: Matching whites, brights, and tennies. The wife really led this couple to near victory with her cargo bell-bottoms and denim bag.

Runner-Up: Another matching couple, but this time up top with their blue wife-beaters. However, it was the husband's semi-mullet and army boots that pulled them through.

Grand Winner: A couple with equal amounts of style. Fluffy brown hair, Hawaiian print shirt, backwards cap, suede backpack. Teamwork, teamwork.

Forever 21: DC Grand Opening!!

1 lovely comments
This Saturday was the grand opening of DC's first Forever 21 (there are tons in the metro area but none actually in the District). All customers got 10% off, which in F21 terms is a lot. It's located in the Woodies Building at 1025 F Street NW if you want to go!

As much as I'm into F21's clothes, I was more impressed by the workers' style. They were incredibly creative and bold - I loved them! I also ran into a customer or two who looked beautifully put-together. Get inspired!

Alex Turco Art Show / Alexander McQueen Tribute

2 lovely comments
Ahh, I had a fabulous night last night! Some of the models from THE Artist Agency (where I'm interning) were modeling some of Alexander McQueen's last pieces at an Alex Turco art show at the beautiful W Hotel. Here's a picture I snapped of the lobby:

Unfortunately I had class until 8 so I wasn't able to get there until 8:45, just in time to see the last outfits. However, Heather (THE's PR director) took me into the changing room to show me what was there. I got to see McQueen's trademark skulls on rings, bracelets, and pumps; moth patterns on luxurious, long dresses; intricately patterned lace tights; and structured wing-like tops. Fantastic!! Also, Alex Turco's fashion paintings had everything I love in art: lots of texture, visible brushwork and drips, tastefully done metallic paint, and of course, Marilyn Monroe. And last but not least, the people there were so much fun and, as to be expected, incredibly stylish. By the time I got there, it had cleared out some, but the best dressed had stayed. So I decided to give a go to my first time doing "street style." Take a look:

Aureta Thomollari, the most fashionable blogger I've seen, wearing an Yves Saint Laurent dress, Victor Costa Vest, Gucci python shoes, and 1920s jewelry. Check out her blog, it's incredible and inspiring! Behind her is one of Alex's paintings (my favorite one).

Ogo Offodile, the extremely talented stylist behind Poodle Pusher.

Quincy Jones, saucy blogger, and Ky'Leigh T. Wilson, abstract artist.
What Quincy is wearing: shorts and cardigan by Rugby, shoes by Donald Pligner, belt and accessories by Hermes, Vetiver by Creed (JFK's favorite scent and Quincy's signature).

From left to right:
Ashley Mason-Greene
Paul Wharton, a style expert who has worked for Elle, MTV, VH1, etc. etc. and currently blogs for The CW's TrenDC.
Erika Paola Gutierrez, Junior Account Exec for Fingerprint Communications, in Diane von Furstenberg, and whose boots were to die for.
Alex Turco, the artist himself, looking fantastic in RING jeans, a Tom Ford jacket, Dolce & Gabbana shoes, and a Dsquared2 shirt.

Scott Burkhard, my wonderful friend who went with me, wearing J. Crew jeans and dress shirt, Johnston Murphy shoes, H&M blazer and Express tie.

And finally, me, wearing my Ermenegildo Zegna glasses, Urban Outfitters feather hair clip, H&M jacket, Cindy Lee dress, and Deena & Ozzy heels.

Hope you enjoyed a glimpse of my night!!
